JSON Validator

Check whether your JSON is valid before it reaches an API, a config file or production. The validator parses your input with the same rules browsers use and reports the line and column of the first error it finds.

Also known as: validate json online, json checker, json syntax checker, check json, json lint.

Your data is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers.

Features

  • Strict JSON syntax check
  • Line and column for the first error
  • No upload, checked in your browser
  • Works with large pasted input

How to use the JSON Validator

  1. Paste your JSON into the input box.
  2. Click Validate.
  3. Read the result. If it is invalid, fix the line shown and validate again.

Examples

{"a": 1,}

Frequently asked questions

Does this check JSON Schema?

No. It checks syntax only. A separate JSON Schema validator is planned.

Are comments allowed in JSON?

No. Standard JSON does not support comments, so a parser will report them as errors.
